FAMILY ADVENTURES

The Wadandi Track runs right past our front gate. A few minutes on the bike along Calgardup Road drops you onto it, so you can leave the car where it is.
The track follows an old rail line, which locals call Rails to Trails, so you get gentle gradients and no technical surprises. If you want to clock up some kilometres with the kids and not a single serious hill, start here.
Head south and the trail carries you down into the karri forest, where a network of single track branches off. Stop at the Boranup Café for lunch or a coffee and look through their gallery while you're there. Point the bikes north instead and you'll roll past Witchcliffe, on through Margaret River town, and as far as Cowaramup if the legs hold up.
Compartment 10
Riders chasing flowy, purpose-built single track want Compartment 10, some of the best in the state, and the Wadandi takes you straight to it. For trail maps and news on the network, which keeps growing, drop into the Hairy Marron Bike Café at the bottom end of Margaret River town. They pour good coffee, hire out bikes, handle servicing and parts, and give away local knowledge for free.
Because the farm sits on the trail, you can ride out after breakfast and be back in time to feed the animals before dark.
See more things to do in Margaret River with kids, or take a look at where you'll stay.
